African Trip Report – TRAC5

African Trip Report:

Our new chairman Doug Fike and founder Mark Siljander deployed to Africa in late October, starting in Kenya with our African Union contacts. Through this relationship, we have the opportunity to implement Trac5 across the continent with current and next-generation leaders.

The trip continued in Sudan where our team met and prayed with members of the new transitional government including Raja Nicola Issa Abdul-Masseh, a Member of the Sovereign Council of Sudan and the first and only Sudanese Christian woman to serve in this capacity (pictured).

By in large, this trip was so successful that it was extended to nearly 3-weeks on the ground and there is a pressing need to send our team back in early January. Our team, which included several indigenous partners, also met with the exiled VP of South Sudan, Riek Machar, during a critical stage in the on-going peace process. As a gesture of gratitude, Machar gifted Mark with his “last copy” of the peace agreement with original signatures (pictured).

During this delicate phase of transition and new governance, there is an unprecedented opportunity to cultivate lasting peace and prosperity in the region. With your help, we hope to follow this first deployment by committing to a second trip in early January of 2020.
